Senior Team
The Hodson Bay Sponsored Senior championsip started this weekend.  Today Our Senior Team travelled to Enfield to take on Western Gaels.  Western Gaels got off to a flying start with a point scored inside the first 4 minutes from Finbar Cregg.  It was nip and tuck for the remainder of the first half and then a goal from Cillian Egan 27 minutes into the first half gave us a slender lead and our lads took control of the game.   At half time the scoreline was Roscommon Gaels 1-6 (9) Western Gaels 0-5 (5).   The scores continued to come thick and fast from Western Gaels with Finbarr Cregg getting two fine points.  Our lads pushed hard and a goal from Kieran Kilcline pushed them well out ahead.  Peter Gilooly came on for Paul Glesson and put the ball into the back of the net.  This put us 10 points ahead.  A futher point and Goal came from Cian Connolly.  Final score Roscommon Gaels 4-9 (21) Western Gaels 0-10 (10).

Hall of Fame – 2017
Tom Doolan

This years Hall of fame Tom Doolan, comes from a family who have had a long association with our club. Tom won many juvenile titles in the 1950s and also won titles in both football and hurling.  A noted and skilful hurler Tom is the proud holder of five senior hurling medals, won in 1964, 1965, 1966, 1969 and 1970.

When Tom finished playing he devoted his time to coaching football and hurling and has been involved with numerous successful teams in both codes in the 1980s 1990s. Tom was also involved with the Junior Hurling team which won the championship in 1993 and are with us tonight, 25 years later. Tom still maintains a keen interest in Gaels affairs and attends matches regularly.

Tom joins a great group in people who built our club over the years and indeed his late father Dan and brother Anthony have received the Hall of Fame award previously. A truly great Gaels family.  Well done Tom.
Congrats
