Roscommon Gaels GAA Club
Roscommon Gaels GAA club has been in existence since 1889. From the very beginning it sought to provide football and hurling to all that lived in Roscommon parish. In it’s long history, it has gone through many transitions. Many of these changes saw improvements in the club with resultant successes both on and off the field of play.
The club services Roscommon town and a catchment area of approximately 5 miles in radius. It caters for people from 5 years of age to pensioners, in the playing and support of the following activities;
1. Football
2. Hurling
3. Camogie
4. Ladies Football
5. Scór
6. All Stars
The club’s current membership is in excess of 450 boys and girls under the age of 18 along with 250 registered adult members. We also have several hundred male and female students from the local schools and the wider community.
The club is administered by an Executive Committee made up of representatives of the various sections of the club. All teams in Roscommon Gaels are coached and mentored by members who are fully trained and certified coaches of the GAA. All of these activities are done on a voluntary basis, with a huge input of hours and effort for no personal monetary gain.
